Looks like a bug. Default currency should be set to $. Other than that it should be based on your language setting, like “Kč” for Czech.
I marked it this as planned as this is on my backlog for some time. Thanks for submitting this issue!

My default language is English for the browser and the app, but I need UAH as the default currency :-)
Anyway, when I used Ukrainian as the primary language for the site, I also had “Kč” as the primary currency.

Oh, got you! Sounds definitely like a bug I should investigate. There is an update coming soon (mid to late February most likely) and this feature will be there.
